The Coromandel community is cautiously optimistic it may have dodged a Covid-19 bullet - with widespread testing so far revealing no sign of the virus.
About 60 percent of the local population is estimated to have been tested.
But while wastewater testing has also come back negative, locals say that doesn't paint the whole picture.
