Director and producer June Renwick is a community theatre legend in Tamaki Makaurau.
Two decades ago, she started the Selwyn Community Arts Theatre, in the suburb of Kohimarama and now at the age of 87, is still going.
June had been a teacher at Selwyn College since the early 80s - and wanted to extend her love for drama, theatre and getting students involved.
She directs, producers, mentors and often helps with the costumes and set for every show.
The theatre puts on at least one production every year and is currently showing performing Mamma Mia.
June speaks to Culture 101 about why she wanted to set up SCAT and how her upbringing has always taught her to just keep going.
