The Food and Grocery Council has welcomed the government's plan to shake up the supermarket sector.
Under the changes a grocery sector watchdog will be set up and a mandatory code of conduct will be introduced.
Supermarkets will also be forced to open up their wholesale arms to would-be competitors if they haven't already done so by the end of the year.
