'Sick in my heart' - Professor Peter Lineham on rainbow crossing vandalisms

From The Panel, 6:10 pm on 28 March 2024

Professor Peter Lineham joins the Panel to discuss the painting over of a rainbow crossing on Karangahape Road, which police are treating as hate crime.

It follows a similar incident where members of Destiny Church painted over a rainbow crossing in Gisborne.

Destiny Church Leader Brian Tamaki did not take responsibility for the Auckland rainbow crossing vandalism, but said whoever did do it had "obviously had enough".

Dr Peter Lineham is a Professor Emeritus of History at Massey University who has written and lectured extensively on the religious history of New Zealand.
