Name of teenager who died after Ōtara street brawl released

Police have named the 19-year-old who died after a street brawl in the South Auckland suburb of Ōtara on Friday night.

Greig Kelvin Temarama-Abela, of Auckland, died in hospital after he was found critically injured following a reported street fight on Wymondley Road

A second person was taken to hospital after the incident, but has since been discharged.

A 19-year-man has been remanded in custody, charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm over the injuries inflicted on the second person. Police have said further charges are likely.

Detective Inspector Tofilau Faamanuia Vaaelua of Counties Manukau CIB, said the investigation team was "continuing to assess every line of enquiry available to us".
