Police are looking for two missing women who were last seen entering the Hākarimata Summit Track in Ngāruawāhia on Monday afternoon.
Maria, 29, and 28-year-old Rumetati did not return home after being seen on the track at 4.30pm.
Land Search and Rescue was operating in the area on Tuesday, and police had serious concerns for their welfare.
"If you have seen them or have any information that might help us find them, please call 111 and quote file number 251021/4117 for Maria and 251021/4027 for Rumetati," police said in a statement.
