Jamie Joseph will coach the All Blacks XV for the next two years.

The All Blacks fifteen will play the Barbarians in Brentford and England A in Bath in November.

One other game is yet to be finalised.

Joseph succeeds Clayton McMillan who led the side in 2024 and will retain the existing coaching group of Jamie Mackintosh, David Hill, and Cory Jane.

After coaching Japan in 51 Tests between 2016 and 2023 before returning to New Zealand, Joseph felt this was an opportunity to get back into some international rugby.

"I think it is a real privilege to get involved with this level of rugby again," Joseph said.

"I'm missing that level of rugby to be honest after being involved with the Japanese team for eight years.

"You miss that level of footy and this is an opportunity to get better."

Joseph played 20 Tests between 1992 and 1995.

He was also a Māori All Blacks representative and Japan international before retiring in 2001.

He has coached the Highlanders, the Māori All Blacks and Japan.

The All Blacks XV squad will be announced on 14 October.

In 2024 the All Blacks XV had wins over Munster and Georgia.
