The White Ferns' chances of reaching the cricket World Cup semi-finals have taken a hit after rain washed out their game against Sri Lanka in Colombo.
After deciding to bat first the home side scored 258 for six, but that is as far as the game got.
Rain started to fall and it didn't let up before the match officials decided no more play was possible.
New Zealand did well with the ball, but Sri Lanka managed to keep wickets in hand and were able to go on the attack in the last 10 overs when they scored 80 runs.
Captain Sophie Devine was the best of the bowlers taking three wickets for 54 runs from her nine overs.
"Sri Lanka batted well, they probably got a few more runs that we would have liked," Devine said afterwards.
"Shame the weather kept us off, we were excited for the chase.
"We will review half the game we played and come up with plans."
The Sri Lankan top order all got in the runs with Nilakshika Silva top scoring with an unbeaten 55.
The no result means both sides pick up a point.
New Zealand are now in fifth place on the table with three points with two losses, a win and a no result from their four games so far.
They play Pakistan in their next game in Colombo on Saturday.
Their remaining round robin games are against India and England.
