The Football Ferns have stumbled to a 2-0 defeat in their second international friendly against Mexico at Ciudad Juárez.
The home side snatched the lead with a goal to Diana Ordoñez from a free-kick on the edge of the penalty area from Maria Sanchez.
Moments later, Sanchez extended the margin, when NZ goalkeeper Victoria Esson failed to clear the ball. The rebound off Sanchez was initially cleared off the goal-line, but straight into Sanchez for the goal.
On Thursday, the NZ women went down 1-0 to the 29th-ranked Mexicans and they now travel to Missouri to face the United States, who are ranked second in the world, this Thursday.
