Kara Rickard
Kara Rickard is the host of RNZ's flagship music programme Music 101, airing on Saturday afternoons on RNZ National.
A dynamic presenter and broadcaster, Kara brings over 12 years of experience in commercial radio and 20 years across television and media. She has previously presented Matariki and holiday programming on RNZ National, and joined the team full time in July 2025.
Showcasing her versatility, Kara co-hosted the 2024 and 2025 Aotearoa Music Awards alongside Afternoons host Jesse Mulligan, celebrating the achievements of New Zealand's music industry. Additionally, Kara hosted RNZ’s visual podcast Treaty Talks, as well as programmes on Sky Sport and Whakaata Māori.
