Police are looking for the occupants of a vehicle used to break into an Auckland pub before a fire was lit.
Detective Senior Sergeant Megan Goldie said police were investigating a burglary and arson at a commercial address in Ōrewa early on Tuesday morning.
According to the NZ Herald, the burglary was at Shoreward Gastrobar.
"At about 12.40am, Police responded to reports of a vehicle being used to gain entry to a business on Hibiscus Coast Highway," Detective Senior Sergeant Goldie said.
"It's understood the occupants of the vehicle have then set fire to the premises before fleeing on foot."
She said the fire was extinguished by members of the public before emergency services arrived at the scene.
No arrests had been made and an investigation was underway to determine what was taken and who was involved.
